Arif Haydar Obituary
Arif Kamran Haydar, 69, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in Summerville, South Carolina.
Born on December 25, 1956, and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Arif was a simple man with the biggest heart. For many years, he made his home in Summerville alongside his wife, Nuzhat, where they built cherished memories with a loving and supportive community.
Arif proudly served his country in the United States Navy before continuing his career with the federal government until his retirement. His years in the Navy were among the most meaningful of his life, and the friendships he formed with his shipmates remained incredibly important to him. He spoke of them often and treasured those lifelong bonds.
He embraced life wholeheartedly. Arif loved traveling the world, taking cruises, enjoying classic western movies, spending time in arcades, and never turned down a great steak. More than anything, though, he loved the people in his life. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, his friends, and the shipmates he considered family.
Arif is survived by his devoted wife, Nuzhat Haydar; his daughters, Zeba Haydar and her husband, Gabriel, and Laila Haydar and her husband, Khizar; his son, Dr. Kamran Haydar; his beloved grandchildren, Amina and Esa; his older brother, Aslam Haydar and his wife, Sameera; his younger sister, Tara; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Afak and Chand Haydar, and his younger brother, Najmi Haydar.
Arif's kindness, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for those around him touched countless lives. He had a larger-than-life presence that made everyone feel welcome, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories he gave us, the lessons he taught us, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on through his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
He will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and profoundly missed.
