Mrs. Betty M. Abbott, age 78 of Boiling Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, May 17, 2024 at her home.
She was born on February 1, 1946 in Clayton, GA to the late James Eugene and Blanche Henslee Morris. She had worked for most of her life as a textile worker at Valley Falls Mill and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry “Crazy Cajun” Abbott; her daughter, Karrie Ann Russ; her son, Jerre Richard Abbott, and her sister, Wanda Lynn Cribbs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, James Abbott (Diane) and Darrell Wayne Abbott (Michelle); ten grandchildren, Carrie, Brandon, Josh, Lessie, Lisa, Joseph, Amber, Regina, Kristy, and Matthew; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many special friends.
Graveside service and interment will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 2:00pm at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Buhl to officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
