Gerald Thomas (Sr.) McGraw

Gerald “Jerry” Thomas McGraw Sr., 75 a resident of Boiling Springs, SC and a native of Michigan passed away suddenly and peacefully on June 23, 2023.

Jerry was born on Selfridge Air Force Base in Harrison Twp., MI on February 27,1948 to the late Mattie McGraw (Upton) and Willie McGraw.

He worked tirelessly for the Chrysler Corporation at the Sterling Heights Stamping Plant for 47 years. During this time he served in numerous roles from manufacturing, maintenance, skilled trades, welding, crane operator and robotics. He also served as the Cub Master for the Van Dyke Cub Scout pack 1487 in the early 80’s, member of the Van Dyke public schools Band Boosters and as a Director of the Michigan Urban Indians were he assisted Urban Indians to learn the American Indian Heritage in South-Eastern Michigan Indian Council.

Jerry was a devoted Son, Brother, Husband, Dad and PaPa which he devoted his entire life to serving his family. He was a loving, caring and generous soul that not only left a legacy on his family, but all those lives he touched.

He is survived by his 3 children; Gerald McGraw Jr. (Kelly) of Boiling Springs, SC, Wendy Good (Brian) of New Baltimore, MI and Crystal Borle (Curtis) of Armada, MI. His 7 Grandchildren; Jason McGraw (Monse), Jessica Elliot (Aaron), Faith Good, Jordan Good, Corey Good, Alexis Good. He also has 2 great grandchildren; Oakley Elliot and Marcelo McGraw. His 6 Brothers and Sisters; Gene McGraw, Roger McGraw, Brenda Spanky, Allen McGraw, Timmy McGraw, Scott McGraw as well as Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving Wife Bonita McGraw who was his heart and soul, his one true love which they were committed in marriage on November 8, 1969 and celebrated their 50th anniversary before her passing. As well as his parents Mattie and Willie McGraw and his beloved sister Kitty Collins.

Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, New Baltimore, Michigan. There will be no local funeral services.
