Jerre R "Crazy Cajun" Abbott

Mr. Jerre R. “Crazy Cajun” Abbott, age 82 of Boiling Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on September 23, 1940 to the late James Richard and Margaret Aday Abbott. He was a truck driver and had served in the United States Air Force. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Jerre Richard Abbott and Karrie Ann Russ; and one brother, Gary Wayne Abbott.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Betty Abbott; two children, James Abbott (Dianne) and Darrell Wayne Abbott (Michelle); two sisters, Marilyn Grimes and Loretta Hibner; ten grandchildren, Carrie, Brandon, Josh, Lessie, Lisa, Joseph, Amber, Regina, Kristy, and Matthew; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many special friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.

Graveside service and interment will follow at 2:00pm at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Buhl to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research or the American Cancer Society.
