Larry James Greer

Mr. Larry James Greer, age 74 of Spartanburg, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born on December 19, 1949 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Ben Tillman Greer, Jr. and Rachel Inez Carter Greer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Solid Rock Church, and had been a factory worker for most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Annette Greer; a daughter, Melissa Moses Carr; 3 brothers, Ray Greer, Tillman Greer III, and Bobby Greer; and his great-granddaughter, Aliyah Durbin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, James Michael Greer; his sister, Brenda Ann Greer; his grandchildren, Emilie Carr, Jude Carr, Rachel Greer, and Daniel Greer; and his great-grandchild, Elijah Durbin; and his son-in-law, Joseph Carr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.

Funeral services will follow the visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Lewis to officiate. Military graveside service and interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park with honors accorded by the American Legion Post 200 of Boiling Springs. Pallbearers will be: Michael Brady, Pete Alley, Chad Webber, Bruce Lunsford, and Brent Webber.
