Leah Ryan Harbison Obituary

Mrs. Leah Ryan Harbison, age 67 of Lake Bowen, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday evening, May 28, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

She was born on February 8, 1959, in McAlester, Oklahoma. Leah was diagnosed on February 2, 2026, with Stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer. She battled this journey with strength, faith, and the support of her family. Leah was rarely far from her loyal chihuahua and constant companion, Ivey. She dedicated much of her career to the textile and manufacturing industries, including many years with Philips Fibers. Leah found joy in yard work, gardening, and growing beautiful flowers and plants both indoors and outdoors. She loved the beach and especially enjoyed the spirit of New Orleans Mardi Gras. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her church family at Church 247. Leah was known for her bold, unfiltered, and often hilarious personality. She had a special way of encouraging those around her to step outside their “spiritual box” and embrace life with honesty, humor, and faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, James “Jody” Harbison, III; her father, William “Bill” Ryan of McAlester, Oklahoma; and her mother, Josephine Brown Ryan of Cowpens, South Carolina.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children: Michael Jolly (Cindy) of Lyman, South Carolina; Anna Jolly Munguia (Abdi) of Aiken, South Carolina; Israel Tedrick (Crystal) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Jamie Harbison (Nicholas) of Greer, South Carolina; two “adopted” children, Christian Mahler and Alexis Roper; two sisters, Lydia Ryan of Gaffney, South Carolina and Raeann Meyer (Jason); one brother, “Rooster” Ryan (Collin); five grandchildren: Amber and Rebekah Jolly; Austin and Ashtin Trump; and Samuel Tedrick; three step-grandchildren, Carsten, Malachi, and Briley Hall; one great-grandchild, Chloe; her niece and her nephew; and her beloved pet, Ivey.
