Mrs. Mary Lou Morgan, age 89 of Boiling Springs, passed away on Thursday morning, June 25, 2026 at Wesley Court Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 17, 1937 in Grover, NC to the late Manley “Fred” and Annie Bell Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Franklin “Gene” Morgan; and her three brothers, Pete Anthony, Jack Anthony, and Fred Fulton.
Mrs. Morgan was instrumental in starting the daycare program at First Baptist Church, North Spartanburg which was the forerunner that in later years became the Spartanburg Christian Academy. She was involved with the daycare program for 27 years prior to her retirement. Her church, her church family, and all of her family were all extremely important to her. She was a patient and caring person who never seemed to anger. She also loved to help people. When she became a resident of Wesley Court, she was always involved with helping other residents and supporting them in any way she could.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Ginny Morgan Owens (Alan), Leslie McBee (Jay), and Chip Morgan (Lisa); her two sisters, Mecie Scruggs and Bert Busbin; her grandchildren, Brad Crocker (Tracy), Terri Howell (Stephen), Justin McBee (Sherri), Shelby Dobbins (Adam), Josh Morgan (Nikki), Jenna McDowell (Scott), Jordan Border, and Chelsea Layton; her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Skylar Crocker, Kellen and Jaelyn McBee, Adalyn Rose Morgan, and Annalise McDowell, Elspeth McDowell, and Arya McDowell.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chip Morgan to officiate.
