Ms. Melissa Lynn “Lisa” Tinsley joyfully entered heaven’s gates in the early morning hours on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness. A testament to her faith and favorite verse Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.”
Lisa deeply cared for the loves of her life and was the proud mother of a son, Aaron Alexander Tinsley. She was the daughter of the late Dottie Ann Ward and Alva Delano Tinsley. Lisa is survived by a brother, Mark Tinsley (Pam) and a sister Melonie Annette Tinsley. She cherished her entire family, namely her nephew, Tiegh “TJ” Tinsley (Tracy) and her nieces Shelby Carroll (Travis), Brooke Elliott (Alex), Amanda Burns (Philip), Tori Jacobs. Lisa shared a special love with her cousin and lifetime confidant, Jennifer Moore (Allen).
Lisa loved the Lord and her church families and was thankful for her praying friends at many churches, BSF, Sunday School Classes and ladies’ groups (as well as the men). She had awesome peace and encouragement knowing that at any given time someone was praying for her. Music gave her joy and inspiration and she shared this love of music by playing alongside her talented mother for many years. She enjoyed a variety of music but faithfully found happiness sharing her talents in churches. Recently she played with a Ukelele Band, Greener Pastures, along with her buddies Gwen Gallen and Bart Greene.
Lisa graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1981 and had a special bond with those lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Northbrook Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at Northbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Benny Green to officiate. Graveside service and interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
May Lisa’s devotion to her family and community along with her warmth, talent and faith be fondly remembered and be a comfort to those who mourn her passing.
