Preacher Larry Wayne Young

Preacher Larry Wayne Young, age 65 of Madison, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on February 22, 1958 in Lexington, NC to the late Billy Avery Young and Ruth Wayne Wilson Young. He had worked as a manager for a mobile home supply company and was a preacher of the Gospel.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Denise Young; three daughters, Crystal Faye Bray (Daniel), Kristi Ann Lane, and Angie Ruth Young; his son, Billy Avery Young, II; two sisters, Libby Smith (Jimmy), and Linda Pettigrew (David); three brothers, Glenn Young (Tina), Eddie Young, and Scott Young (Sunshine); and two grandchildren, Caleb and Peyton Bray.

Graveside service and interment will be private at the Young Family Cemetery on the family property with Pastor Daniel Lee Bray to officiate. Pallbearers will be: Billy Young, Glenn Young, Eddie Young, Scott Young, J.R. Barham, and Todd Kendrick. Honorary pallbearer will be Caleb Bray.

A Celebration of Life and a receiving of friends will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 3:00pm at Oak Level Baptist Church, Stokesdale, NC with Pastor Jerry Walker and Minister Lonnie Sorrell to officiate. A meal will be provided after the service at the church and the family would like for everyone to be invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Denise Young, 1255 Mineral Springs Road, Madison, NC 27025.
