Samuel Michael Morrison Obituary
Born on October 27, 1962, in Houma, Louisiana, Mike was the son of the late James Logan Morrison and Delores Jo Morrison.
Mike shared 34 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cathy Cantrell Morrison. He dedicated 27 years of service to BMW and was a faithful member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church, as well as a proud member of “The Shop.”
Mike was a wonderful, selfless man with a big heart who loved deeply and lived fully. He was known for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh wherever he went. Whether through a perfectly timed joke, a funny story, or simply his larger-than-life personality, Mike had a gift for bringing joy to those around him.
Family was the center of Mike’s world, and he always put them first. He adored his wife, Cathy, and was a devoted father who loved his son unconditionally. Mike poured his heart into coaching little league baseball and football teams his son played on, played church softball alongside him, and proudly supported him by attending his dirt bike races. He passed down his love of motorcycles, as well as his love for “The Shop,” to his son, who now proudly carries on that legacy.
Mike found joy in life’s simple pleasures—golfing, fishing, karate, camping in Maggie Valley, visiting family and friends in Louisiana, gathering around shrimp boils, and cooking for those he loved. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his beloved wife, Cathy, are his mother, Delores Jo Morrison; his son, Michael James Morrison and wife, Karson; his sister, Leslie Morrison Colvin; his nephew, Christopher Cantrell and wife, Brianna; his nieces, Jolee McAbee and Natalie Watson and husband, Benji; his great-nephew, Jonathan Verrett; his great-nieces, JuJu McAbee, Emerson Cantrell, and Wrenley Cantrell; and his great-great niece, Sofia.
A memorial service honoring Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at 456 Mudd Creek Road, Inman, South Carolina 29349. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Roberts Funeral Home, Comfort Keepers, and their wonderful caregiver, Brianna, whose compassion, laughter, and loving care brought Mike so much joy. She was truly a gift from God.
